Cinematic

The Concept

For this cinematic, the intention was to evoke a mystical ambiance, capturing the enigmatic essence of a traveler embarking on a challenging journey through the vast desert, relentlessly pursuing an undefined destination.

With the central focus on a captivating viewpoint, I meticulously crafted the scene to showcase a mysterious figure traversing through ancient ruins.

I opted for a vivid and warm color palette, blending the realism of the lighting and sand with an abstract and slightly cartoony style for the other props.

Then, I carefully incorporated subtle yet essential details into the location, striking a balance that lends believability and enhances immersion in the cinematic.

I constructed the landscape by incorporating cloud noise, which allowed me to shape and modify the terrain to suit the desired scene.

I incorporated massive white mountains to emphasize the character's insignificance in relation to the expansive location and evoke a feeling of sacredness for the viewer.

Wind Effect

To achieve the effect of wind blowing through the sand, I employed a panning noise technique that dynamically evolves over time. The noise contains darker areas that effectively convey the illusion of sand movement.

Footsteps

To achieve the desired effect, I employed a mask on the sand material, which activates a normal map specifically when the character's feet come into contact with the landscape.
